How to use

Position the HookUpz 2.0 over the eyepiece of the optical device so the optic cam lock engages the eyepiece outer barrel, then secure the phone clamp around your smartphone so the camera lens aligns with the eyepiece opening. Fine-tune alignment by adjusting the clamp position until the camera viewfinder shows a centered, circular image. Tighten the locks to maintain alignment, then capture photos or video using your phone’s camera app. To remove, loosen the locks and lift the mount away from the eyepiece; store the mount in the included hard foam case when not in use.

Usage recommendations

For best image quality, use manual camera controls or a dedicated astrophotography app to set exposure and focus. When imaging at high magnification (telescopes or spotting scopes), stabilize the optical instrument on a tripod and avoid touching the mount or phone during exposure to reduce blur. Ensure the eyepiece outer diameter falls within the stated compatible range and check that the phone camera is properly centered before taking long exposures.
