Heat-Shrink Tubing CellPack 427617 CR 6.4/3.2 - 1/4" Mixed sizes
CellPack heat-shrink tubing 427617 CR 6.4/3.2 (1/4" mixed sizes) is a shrinkable insulating sleeve intended for electrical insulation, cable protection and strain relief. Supplied as a mixed set with nominal diameters of 6.4 mm and 3.2 mm (1/4"), this heat-shrink tubing is suitable for repair work, wiring harnesses, joint insulation and protecting conductor ends in electrical and electronic applications. The flexible polyolefin construction provides dielectric isolation and a close, conformal fit after heat application.
The CellPack heat-shrink tubing offers reliable insulation and mechanical protection without adding significant bulk. Its mixed-size pack provides two commonly used diameters for versatility in small installations and repairs. When heated, the tubing shrinks uniformly to form a tight covering that resists abrasion, moisture ingress and mild chemical exposure. The material retains flexibility after shrinking to accommodate movement and prevent cracking under normal service conditions.
Cut the tubing to the required length and position it over the splice, joint or cable section to be insulated. Apply uniform heat using a heat gun, hot air tool or controlled flame at an appropriate distance until the tubing contracts and conforms tightly to the substrate. Allow the tubing to cool and verify that it forms a secure, smooth covering with no gaps. For best results, ensure surfaces are clean and free of oils or debris before shrinking.
Select the tubing diameter that provides a snug fit over the component before shrinking. Use a regulated hot air tool when possible to ensure even heating and avoid overheating surrounding components. For applications exposed to moisture or chemicals, consider additional sealing measures such as an adhesive-lined variant or complementary protective coatings.
