Heat shrink tubing CellPack CR 38.1/19.1 1½" thin-wall black 1 m

CellPack CR 38.1/19.1 heat shrink tubing is a thin-wall, black protective sleeve with a nominal 1½" diameter and a 1 m length, designed for electrical insulation and mechanical protection of cables and connectors. Made to shrink uniformly when heated, the tubing provides improved moisture resistance and abrasion protection while forming a neat, compact covering for splices, joints and terminations in installation and repair work.

Advantages

The thin-wall construction ensures a tight shrink fit without significant bulk, enabling reliable insulation and strain relief without adding excessive volume. The black polyolefin material offers good resistance to abrasion and environmental moisture, while the predictable shrink ratio simplifies selection and application. Its 1 m length provides flexibility for use on multiple cables or longer runs during installation and maintenance tasks.

Suitable for

• Insulating and protecting single conductors, splices and solder joints
• Providing mechanical protection and strain relief on cable assemblies
• Sealing cable bundles and protecting connector interfaces from moisture
• Repairing damaged insulation on power and signal cables

Key specifications

• Color: black
• Nominal recovered diameter: approximately 19.1 mm
• Nominal expanded diameter: approximately 38.1 mm
• Wall type: thin-wall polyolefin
• Length: 1 metre
• Application: heat-shrinkable sleeve for electrical insulation and mechanical protection

How to use

Slide the tubing over the cable, splice or connector before completing the joint. Apply heat evenly along the length using a heat gun, hot-air tool or appropriate heating method until the tubing shrinks tightly around the substrate and conforms to its shape. Allow the tubing to cool to room temperature before handling to ensure full recovery and adhesion to irregularities. For best results, ensure surfaces are clean and free of oils or contaminants prior to application.

Usage recommendations

Use a regulated hot-air tool at a moderate temperature and maintain a steady sweeping motion to avoid scorching; for heat-sensitive components, keep the heat source at a safe distance and monitor shrink progress visually. Where additional environmental sealing is required, consider using adhesive-lined or multi-layer tubing options specific to those needs.
