Brake Cable Liner Clarks CLARK'S 2P with Teflon 5 mm × 30 m silver
Clarks CLARK'S 2P brake cable liner with Teflon coating is a 5 mm inner-diameter, 30 m length sleeve supplied in silver. It serves as a low-friction inner sleeve for bicycle brake cables, intended to reduce friction and wear inside brake housings and to improve cable movement and responsiveness. The liner is suitable for re-lining existing housings, building new cable assemblies in the workshop, and routine maintenance of road, mountain and urban bicycles.
The Teflon-coated inner surface lowers friction between the cable and liner, enabling smoother brake actuation and more consistent lever feel. The 5 mm internal diameter matches common brake cable sizes and allows easy threading of standard brake cables. The 30 m length provides enough material for multiple hose relines or complete shop reworking projects, while the silver finish aids identification during installation and maintenance.
Cut the required length of liner with a sharp blade or cable liner cutter to ensure a clean edge. Insert the liner into the brake outer housing before installing the inner cable, taking care to seat the liner fully at both ends to avoid kinks. Route the brake cable through the Teflon-lined housing and fit end caps or ferrules as appropriate for the brake system. Trim excess liner so that it does not protrude past ferrules or interfere with caliper or lever operation.
For best performance, ensure the liner is compatible with the brake cable diameter and housing type used on the bicycle. Use fresh, clean inner cables and periodically inspect for wear or contamination. When relining multiple housings, store unused liner length coiled in a dry place away from direct sunlight to preserve the coating.
