Thermal Imaging Camera CONOTECH™ PARD Wombat 640 35 mm LRF — 640×480 sensor, 35 mm lens, integrated laser rangefinder

The CONOTECH™ PARD Wombat 640 35 mm LRF is a thermal imaging camera equipped with a 640×480 thermal sensor and a 35 mm lens with an integrated laser rangefinder. It is designed to capture detailed thermal images at medium to long ranges while simultaneously providing distance measurements. The device is intended for users who require precise thermal detection combined with range data for observation, inspection, or situational assessment in low-light or no-light conditions.

Advantages

The Wombat 640 combines a high-resolution 640×480 thermal sensor with a 35 mm optic to produce clear thermal images with improved target definition compared to lower-resolution units. The integrated laser rangefinder enables direct distance measurement to targets, reducing the need for separate rangefinder equipment. The unit’s configuration supports extended observation and documentation tasks where both thermal detail and range information are required.

Suitable for

• Search and rescue operations where locating survivors in darkness or smoke is necessary
• Wildlife observation and monitoring at dawn, dusk, or night
• Security patrols and perimeter inspections to detect intruders or heat anomalies
• Building and infrastructure inspections to identify heat leaks or overheated components

When it may not be suitable

This thermal imaging camera is optimized for thermal detection and distance measurement; it is not a visible-light optics replacement and will not provide detailed color imagery or fine visible-light detail. Environments with heavy obstructions, dense foliage, or very close-range manual tasks may limit the effectiveness of the 35 mm lens and the line-of-sight laser rangefinder.

Key specifications

• Thermal sensor resolution: 640 × 480 pixels
• Lens focal length: 35 mm
• Integrated laser rangefinder for direct distance measurements
• Designed for medium to long-range thermal observation
• Outputs thermal imagery suitable for detection, measurement and documentation

How to use

Power on the device and allow the thermal sensor to stabilize according to the manufacturer’s warm-up guidance. Aim the camera at the target area and focus using the device’s optical or digital focus controls, if available. Use the integrated laser rangefinder to obtain a distance reading by activating the rangefinder function and ensuring a clear line of sight to the target. Capture thermal images or video as required and record or transfer files through the unit’s available export options for further analysis or reporting.

What to consider before purchase

• Required detection range and target size for your tasks
• Need for integrated distance measurement versus separate rangefinder equipment
• Environmental conditions (fog, heavy foliage, or obstructions) that can affect thermal imaging and laser ranging
• Compatibility with your workflow for image/video export and analysis

Usage recommendations

For best results, use the CONOTECH™ PARD Wombat 640 35 mm LRF from stable mounting or a steady platform, allow the sensor to stabilize before critical observations, and verify rangefinder measurements with clear line-of-sight to the target. For inspection or documentation tasks, record imagery at multiple angles and distances to improve detection reliability and contextual understanding.
