COPIC Marker ciao model 22075421 SHADE Light Warm Gray — Alcohol-based sketching and illustration marker, single piece
COPIC Marker ciao model 22075421 SHADE Light Warm Gray is an alcohol-based sketching and illustration marker sold as a single piece. Designed for layouting, sketching and illustrating, the marker offers consistent ink flow and smooth blending for shading, rendering and precise line work. The compact, lightweight ciao body makes it portable for on-the-go work and the refillable design plus replaceable nibs extend its usable life for professional and hobby applications.
The Light Warm Gray shade provides reliable, neutral tones useful for subtle shading and midtone washes. Alcohol-based ink enables smooth gradients and easy blending without excessive streaking, while the two different nib types (brush and chisel) give flexibility for both broad washes and fine details. Consistent color output and refillability reduce interruptions during long projects and help maintain a uniform look across sketches and illustrations.
Because the marker uses alcohol-based ink, it is not ideal for porous paper without proper priming, as heavy absorption can reduce blending performance and increase feathering. It is not lightfast to the same degree as pigment-based archival media, so prolonged exposure to strong light may cause gradual fading over many years.
Choose the appropriate nib for the intended stroke: use the brush tip for soft shading and expressive strokes, and the chisel tip for crisp lines, hatching and filling larger areas. Work on marker-friendly or heavyweight coated paper to prevent bleeding and allow smooth blending. Layer lightly and blend adjacent tones while the ink is still wet to achieve smooth gradients; allow layers to dry before adding further detail to avoid unintended lifting of previous layers.
For consistent tonal work, begin with broad, light washes using the chisel tip, then refine edges and textures with the brush tip. Test blending and layering on a scrap of the same paper before working on final pieces to ensure the desired appearance and drying time.
