Multiswitch Corab SMART LINE 5/8, model 11089, for distributing satellite and terrestrial signals
Corab SMART LINE 5/8 multiswitch model 11089 is a passive signal distribution device designed to route satellite and terrestrial antenna inputs to multiple receivers. With five inputs and eight outputs, it enables independent access to the same satellite and terrestrial sources from up to eight set-top boxes or satellite tuners. The compact unit is intended for multi-receiver installations such as small apartment buildings, hotels, or multiroom home systems where a single antenna system must serve multiple endpoints.
The Corab SMART LINE 5/8 multiswitch offers a simple passive design that requires no power supply and provides stable signal distribution to multiple receivers. Its five-input configuration supports common LNB and terrestrial antenna combinations, reducing the need for additional splitters or amplifiers in small to medium installations. The device's rated eight outputs make it suitable for installations where multiple independent tuners or set-top boxes must receive both satellite and terrestrial signals simultaneously.
Connect the satellite LNB feeds and the terrestrial antenna feed to the five input terminals of the multiswitch according to the labeling on the unit. Run coaxial cables from the multiswitch outputs to each receiver or set-top box. Ensure cable runs use appropriate quality coaxial cable and F-type connectors tightened to manufacturer recommendations to maintain signal integrity. Because the device is passive, no external power connection is required; however, check receiver and LNB power requirements in the installation plan to avoid conflicts when multiple tuners request LNB power.
Use short, well-shielded coaxial cables and avoid unnecessary inline splitters to minimize signal loss. For longer cable runs or installations with weak incoming signals, test signal levels at each outlet and consider adding a compatible amplifier or using a powered multiswitch solution if signal degradation is observed. Follow local regulations and safety practices when mounting and grounding antenna equipment.
