Rust-stop primer spray CorroProtect 22641 — red-brown corrosion-inhibiting primer, 400 ml
The CorroProtect Rust stop primer spray is a red-brown corrosion-inhibiting primer supplied in a convenient 400 ml aerosol container. This specialized product is designed to effectively halt existing rust processes and prepare metal surfaces for subsequent topcoat applications, ensuring a reliable foundation for your painting projects. By combining rust inhibition with strong adhesion properties, it protects steel and iron components against environmental wear in various maintenance and repair scenarios.
This corrosion-inhibiting primer offers reliable protection for vulnerable metal substrates by creating an active barrier against moisture and atmospheric exposure. It delivers excellent adhesion on steel and iron parts, which helps the final topcoat adhere securely and last longer without peeling or flaking. The aerosol format ensures smooth, even coverage even on complex geometries, hard-to-reach areas, and detailed surfaces. Additionally, its red-brown shade serves as an effective base color that aids in achieving uniform coverage with subsequent paint layers.
This product is not recommended for non-ferrous metals such as aluminum, copper, or brass, as it is specifically formulated for steel and iron surfaces. It should also not be applied directly to surfaces that are currently wet or heavily contaminated with loose rust, oil, and grease without prior cleaning.
Ensure the metal surface is thoroughly clean, dry, and free of grease, dirt, and loose rust flakes before application. Shake the aerosol container vigorously for the duration recommended on the packaging to mix the contents properly. Hold the can approximately 20 to 25 cm away from the surface and apply thin, even coats with overlapping strokes to prevent runs and sags. Allow the primer to dry completely according to the manufacturer drying time specifications before applying any further topcoats.
Always apply the primer in a well-ventilated area while wearing appropriate personal protective equipment, such as safety glasses and a mask, to avoid inhaling spray mist.
