Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets for Fabric
Cricut Infusible Ink Transfer Sheets are professional-grade materials designed for high-quality heat transfer projects on fabric. Unlike traditional iron-on vinyl that sits on the surface, these sheets utilize a specialized ink process that infuses the design directly into the fibers of compatible base materials. This results in a seamless, permanent finish that feels like part of the fabric itself, ensuring your custom creations remain vibrant and durable over time.
The primary benefit of using Infusible Ink is the exceptional longevity and quality of the final design. Because the ink becomes one with the material, the finished product will not crack, peel, wrinkle, or flake, even after repeated washing. The colors appear dull on the sheet but bloom into rich, vibrant hues once activated by high heat, providing a professional, screen-print-like aesthetic that is soft to the touch and highly resistant to wear.
These transfer sheets are not suitable for use on standard cotton fabrics that are not specifically labeled as Infusible Ink compatible. They will not work on materials that cannot withstand the high temperatures required for the transfer process, nor can they be used on skin or for any purpose other than heat-applied textile decoration.
To begin, cut your desired design from the transfer sheet using a compatible Cricut cutting machine, ensuring you mirror your image if necessary. Weed away the excess material to reveal your design. Place your design face down onto a compatible Infusible Ink blank, securing it with heat-resistant tape to prevent shifting. Apply heat using a Cricut EasyPress or a professional heat press set to 400°F (205°C) for the recommended duration. Once the transfer is complete, carefully remove the sheet to reveal the permanently infused design.
Always perform a test transfer on a scrap piece of compatible material to ensure your heat settings and timing are correct before applying the design to your final project. Ensure the fabric surface is completely clean and free of lint or debris before starting the heat transfer process.
