Handheld bar code reader Datalogic Gryphon GM4500 1D/2D Laser Wireless Black
The Datalogic Gryphon GM4500 handheld bar code reader is designed for healthcare and clinical environments where regular cleaning and disinfection are required. The device features Disinfectant-Ready enclosures with antimicrobial additives and is built to withstand daily cleaning with harsh disinfectant solutions. The GM4500 reads 1D and 2D bar codes, including codes shown on LCD screens and mobile devices, and is available in wireless configurations to provide cordless mobility for clinical workflows.
The GM4500 supports a wide range of 1D and 2D symbologies and offers high read performance on colored labels and screens thanks to Datalogic’s visible illumination and 4-dot aimer. The reader includes patented Green Spot visual confirmation and can operate with silent mode and optional vibration to minimize disturbance near patients. Wireless models include an inductive charging system for the battery, reducing maintenance related to contact cleaning and improving overall reliability.
Power on the GM4500 and pair the wireless model with its base or host device following the supplied pairing procedure. Aim the 4-dot aimer at the bar code and trigger a read; the Green Spot and illumination will indicate a successful read. Use the silent mode and vibration option if patient comfort is required. Follow the manufacturer's instructions for initial setup, connectivity configuration and battery charging.
Clean and disinfect the reader regularly using approved healthcare disinfectants compatible with Disinfectant-Ready enclosures. Use wireless inductive charging for cordless models to avoid contact-based charging maintenance. Choose High Density variants when frequent reading of small or very dense codes is required.
