Datwyler S/UTP Cat5e Patch Cable, Grey, 15m Networking Cable

The Datwyler S/UTP Cat5e Patch Cable, Grey, 15m Networking Cable is a reliable solution for establishing stable Ethernet connections in residential and commercial local area networks. Designed by Dätwyler, this network cable ensures consistent data transmission for everyday networking tasks, whether you are setting up a home office or connecting hardware in a standard office environment. With its neutral grey PVC outer jacket, the cable blends easily into most office and home interiors while providing essential protection for internal conductors.

Advantages

This Cat5e patch cable delivers dependable performance for standard network setups, minimizing signal interference thanks to its S/UTP shielding design. The generous 15-meter length offers flexible placement options, allowing you to connect devices that are located at a distance from routers, switches, or wall outlets without requiring additional extension couplers. Built with quality materials from Dätwyler, the cable ensures longevity and consistent data transfer rates for various networking applications.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktop computers and laptops to network switches or routers
• Extending network connections across medium-sized rooms in homes or offices
• Linking Ethernet-enabled peripheral devices to local area networks
• Temporary or permanent wired network installations requiring a 15-meter reach

When it may not be suitable

This cable may not be suitable for high-density data centers or enterprise environments requiring Category 6a or higher performance standards for extremely fast multi-gigabit speeds over long distances. Additionally, the 15-meter length might be excessive for connecting devices that are situated right next to each other, potentially leading to excess cable management challenges.

Key specifications

• Cable type: S/UTP Category 5e patch cable
• Length: 15 meters
• Color: Grey
• Outer jacket material: PVC

How to use

To use the networking cable, insert one RJ45 connector into the Ethernet port of your networking device, such as a computer, printer, or IP camera, and plug the other end into an available port on your router, switch, or wall socket. Ensure the connectors click securely into place to maintain a stable connection. Route the cable safely along walls or under furniture to prevent tripping hazards and avoid sharp bends that could damage the internal wiring.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that the 15-meter length is appropriate for the distance between your connected devices
• Confirm that your network hardware supports Cat5e standards
• Check whether S/UTP shielding meets your specific environment requirements

Usage recommendations: Avoid placing heavy objects on the cable or running it across high-traffic floor areas without cable protectors, as physical pressure can damage the internal conductors and degrade network performance over time.
