This black Mode 3 cable with standard Type 2 connectors on both ends weighs 2.7 kg and is suitable for home and public charging points, offering flexible reach and reliable connection in a variety of weather conditions.

Advantages

The eConnect cable remains soft and flexible even in severe cold, making it easier to handle, coil and store at low temperatures. It is lightweight and ergonomically designed with connector grips angled differently for the charge point side and the vehicle side to improve handling. The construction is durable and resistant to moisture and heat. A retractable smart cap protects the Type 2 connector from dirt and water and is positioned to hang upside down during charging to avoid collecting debris. The connector plugs are resin-free for improved recyclability and lower environmental impact.

How to use

Uncoil the DEFA eConnect cable and connect the Type 2 plug to the charge point first, then insert the second Type 2 plug into the vehicle inlet. Ensure both connectors are fully inserted and the charge point is activated according to the station instructions. After charging, stop the session via the charging point or vehicle, remove the vehicle-side connector first, then the station-side connector, coil the cable and secure it with the supplied velcro storage strap or place it in a storage bag. Use the smart cap to protect the vehicle connector when it is not in use.

Usage recommendations

Store the cable coiled and protected from prolonged direct sunlight when not in use. For improved handling and protection, consider DEFA accessories such as the lockable docking station or the tailored cable bag; accessories are sold separately.
