Deka roofing sealing tape Alubutyl 15 cm x 10 m, black
Deka roofing sealing tape Alubutyl 15 cm x 10 m in black is a self-adhesive sealing tape intended for exterior roofing and repair applications. The tape combines a flexible bitumen-like compound with an aluminum facing to create a waterproof, conformable barrier for joints, flashings, gutters and localized repairs on metal, bitumen and other construction substrates. Its 15 cm width and 10 m length provide a balance between surface coverage and easy handling for on-site work.
The tape forms an immediate watertight seal on contact without the need for primers or heat in most standard applications. Its flexible backing conforms to uneven and irregular surfaces, ensuring continuity across seams and penetrations. The aluminum-faced outer layer adds weather resistance and UV stability while the adhesive layer offers strong initial tack and long-term adhesion to common roofing materials. Supplied in a roll, the product is portable and suitable for rapid repairs and flashing details.
Ensure surfaces are clean, dry and free of loose material, oil or frost before application. Measure and cut the required length, peel back a portion of the release liner and press the tape into place, smoothing from the center outwards to eliminate trapped air. For best adhesion, apply firm pressure along the full length of the tape; use a roller where practical. Overlap ends and seams by at least 50 mm to maintain continuity. On dusty or highly oxidized metal, a light mechanical cleaning or solvent wipe will improve adhesion.
For long-term performance, apply at temperatures recommended by the manufacturer (typically above 5 °C) and avoid installing to wet or frozen substrates. Regularly inspect exposed repairs and flashings and re-seal edges if any lifting or damage is observed.
