Internal hard drive Dell 3KP7H 2.4 TB 10000 RPM 2.5" SAS
Dell 3KP7H is a 2.5" internal hard drive with 2.4 TB capacity and a 10,000 RPM spindle speed, using a SAS interface designed for server and enterprise storage. It is intended for high-performance transactional workloads, RAID arrays and virtualization, providing consistent sequential and random I/O for databases, mail servers and virtualization hosts. The drive supports high throughput and low-latency access patterns typical in multi-user and mixed read/write environments.
The 2.4 TB capacity balances density and performance for systems that require substantial storage without moving to larger 3.5" form factors. A 10,000 RPM spindle speed reduces access latency compared with lower-RPM drives, while the SAS interface provides enterprise-class connectivity and throughput suitable for RAID arrays and SAN deployments. The drive’s 2.5" size helps increase drive density in server trays and blade enclosures.
This drive may not be the best choice for cold storage or archival use where maximum capacity per spindle and low cost per TB are the priority; higher-capacity, lower-RPM drives or tape solutions may be more economical for that purpose. It is also not optimal for client desktops where SATA consumer drives or solid-state drives deliver better cost/performance or lower power consumption.
Install the drive into a compatible 2.5" SAS bay following your server or enclosure manufacturer’s instructions. Configure the drive within the operating system or RAID controller firmware as a member of an array or as a standalone volume depending on required redundancy and performance. Ensure firmware and drivers for your server backplane and HBA/RAID controller are up to date for full compatibility. Monitor drive health through your hardware management tools and schedule backups as part of your storage maintenance plan.
Use this drive in enterprise configurations where balanced capacity and performance are required. Pair with enterprise-class RAID controllers and proper cooling in the server chassis. Follow vendor guidance on firmware updates and monitoring to maintain predictable performance and reliability.
