This Delock adapter allows connection of NVMe storage devices, for example U.2 SSDs with SFF-8643 interface, to an M.2 Key M slot. The adapter supports M.2 SSD lengths 22110, 2280 and 2260 and includes predetermined breaking points so the PCB can be shortened from 110 mm to 80 mm or 60 mm to fit different drives and enclosures. It is an internal, green-coloured adapter supplied in a hanging box and designed to provide a compact solution for integrating SFF-8643 NVMe devices with M.2 hosts.
The adapter provides compatibility between M.2 Key M host slots and SFF-8643 NVMe devices, enabling high-speed PCIe/NVMe data transfer. Its configurable length with predetermined breaking points allows flexible installation for various M.2 drive sizes (22110, 2280, 2260). The internal design and standard interfaces make it suitable for server and workstation upgrades while the compact PCB simplifies integration into constrained spaces.
Install the M.2 end of the adapter into an M.2 Key M slot on the motherboard or host card, then connect the SFF-8643 cable or device to the SFF-8643 connector on the adapter. If the M.2 drive requires a shorter PCB length, break the adapter at the appropriate predetermined breaking point to reduce it to 80 mm or 60 mm before securing the drive. Ensure the system is powered off when installing or removing drives and use proper grounding to avoid electrostatic damage.
Use with compatible NVMe/U.2 drives and SFF-8643 cables. Verify motherboard or enclosure clearance and secure the M.2 module with the correct screw standoffs after adjusting length. Operate in accordance with the SSD and host manufacturer guidelines for thermal management and power requirements.
