Polymeric Fuse Delta BPS-2500*P10
Polymeric Fuse Delta BPS-2500*P10 is a resettable polymeric positive temperature coefficient (PTC) device designed to interrupt overcurrent conditions and protect electrical circuits. The component provides self-resetting protection by increasing resistance under excessive current, limiting fault current and protecting connected equipment. Its compact form factor and polymer construction make it suitable where space-saving, repeatable overcurrent protection is required for power supplies, control modules and electronic assemblies.
The polymeric element gives the fuse a reversible trip behavior: when an overload occurs the device transitions to a high-resistance state, limiting current without the need for replacement, and it returns to normal operation once the fault is removed and the device cools. The compact design supports integration into confined enclosures and printed circuit boards, while the polymer construction provides stable electrical characteristics over multiple trip cycles. This device simplifies maintenance by avoiding one-time fusible links and reduces downtime through automatic recovery.
Install the polymeric fuse in series with the circuit to be protected, ensuring appropriate thermal coupling and mounting consistent with the device's rated current and expected ambient conditions. Verify the correct orientation and secure electrical connections according to the target assembly guidelines. During normal operation the device presents low resistance; when an overcurrent occurs it increases resistance to limit current flow. After the fault condition is removed allow the device to cool so it can return to its low-resistance state and resume normal conduction.
Choose the device rating to match the normal operating current and to ensure proper trip characteristics under anticipated fault conditions. Provide sufficient spacing and ventilation to allow cooling after a trip event. For PCB mounting follow recommended soldering and thermal guidelines from the equipment designer; avoid exposing the polymeric element to solvents or prolonged high temperatures that could degrade performance. For critical applications, pair with upstream current-limiting or circuit breakers as part of a coordinated protection scheme.
