Range Finder DJI DJI LiDAR Range Finder RS Black 1 pc(s)
The DJI LiDAR Range Finder RS is a compact accessory designed to improve focusing and subject detection for the DJI RS 3 Pro. It projects a dense LiDAR point cloud to measure distances up to 14 meters in ideal conditions and includes a built-in camera with a 30 mm-equivalent focal length and a 70° field of view. The unit is lightweight and intended for handheld shooting, low-light environments and scenarios where surface texture-based focusing is unreliable. When paired with the Focus Motor (2022), it also enables autofocus on calibrated manual lenses and enhances ActiveTrack Pro performance.
The LiDAR system simplifies focusing for handheld shooting by providing depth information that does not depend on subject texture, improving focus reliability in low light. It projects up to 43,200 ranging points within a 14 m detection envelope (7 m typical for human subjects in normal shooting conditions), and combines a built-in camera (30 mm equivalent, 70° FOV) to handle most focusing scenarios. Integration with the Focus Motor (2022) makes autofocus possible on manual lenses after calibration and enhances subject identification and tracking when used with RS 3 Pro.
Attach the LiDAR Range Finder RS to the DJI RS 3 Pro using the supplied LiDAR control and multi-camera control cables (USB-C, 30 cm). Enable the LiDAR/Range Finder function in the gimbal settings and follow on-screen prompts for calibration. For manual lenses, mount the lens, connect and run the calibration routine with the Focus Motor (2022) to enable autofocus. Use ActiveTrack Pro in the RS 3 Pro interface to leverage improved subject detection and tracking.
Test LiDAR performance in your typical shooting environments: while the unit can detect up to 14 m in controlled conditions, expect reliable human-subject detection to about 7 m in normal lighting. Use the Focus Motor (2022) and perform proper calibration when attempting autofocus with manual lenses.
