The TFA-Dostmann 30.5054.02 Indoor Temperature & Humidity Sensor is a compact freestanding device for monitoring room climate. It displays current temperature and relative humidity on a high-contrast e-ink display that is easy on the eyes and readable without glare. The display can show black text on white or an inverted white-on-black view. The device records and shows minimum and maximum values and also includes a clock with date or weekday indication. Its slim housing and multiple mounting options — fold-out stand, adhesive wall mount, nail hanging or rear magnet for metal surfaces — make it easy to place anywhere in the home.
The e-ink display provides paper-like contrast and low power consumption, ensuring long battery life for the 3V battery operation. A smiley indicator signals when temperature and humidity are within the comfort zone, enabling quick assessment at a glance. Stored min/max readings can be viewed with a button press, and the integrated clock offers date or weekday display. Multiple mounting options offer flexible placement on shelves, walls or metal surfaces.
Place the sensor on a flat surface using the fold-out stand, attach it to a wall with the supplied adhesive mount or hang it on a nail. For metal surfaces, fix the device using the rear magnet. The display shows current temperature and humidity immediately; press the button to view stored minimum and maximum readings. Use the display inversion option to select the preferred contrast mode and set the clock to show date or weekday if required. Replace the 3V battery when the display or functions indicate low power.
Position the sensor away from direct sunlight, heaters or windows with drafts to ensure accurate indoor temperature and humidity readings. Check min/max values after periods of heating or ventilation to evaluate climate changes and adjust ventilation or heating accordingly.
