Networking Cable Draka Comteq S/FTP-Patch Cat6 15m

The Draka Comteq S/FTP-Patch Cat6 15m is a 15-meter patch cable with RJ-45 connectors on both ends designed for wired Ethernet networks. The cable uses Cat6 specification and S/FTP shielding (shielded overall braid plus individually foil-shielded pairs) to reduce electromagnetic interference and crosstalk, supporting reliable high-speed data transmission for home and office installations. Its black outer sheath offers a discreet finish suitable for visible runs and managed cabling.

Advantages

The S/FTP construction provides effective protection against external electromagnetic interference and limits pair-to-pair crosstalk, which helps maintain stable throughput over longer runs. With Cat6 performance characteristics, the cable supports Gigabit Ethernet and is suitable for many modern networking devices. The integrated RJ-45 plugs ensure immediate compatibility with standard network ports without the need for termination on site.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktop computers, laptops and network printers to a switch or router
• Patch panels and structured cabling in small office or home office environments
• Audio/video streaming and VoIP endpoints requiring stable wired connections
• Temporary or permanent cabling runs where reduced interference is needed

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6 unshielded twisted pair with S/FTP shielding
• Length: 15 meters
• Connectors: RJ-45 male to RJ-45 male on both ends
• Shielding: Overall braid plus foil-shielded individual pairs (S/FTP)
• Color: Black outer sheath
• Supported speeds: Suitable for Gigabit Ethernet and typical Cat6 bandwidths

How to use

Insert each RJ-45 connector into the corresponding network port on your devices, such as a router, switch, patch panel or network-enabled device. Ensure connectors click into place to confirm a secure physical connection. For best performance, avoid tight bends near the connector ends and keep the cable away from heavy sources of electromagnetic noise such as large motors or unshielded power lines. When routing the cable through cable management systems, maintain bend radius according to standard Cat6 practice to preserve signal integrity.

Usage recommendations

For reliable long-term performance, use the cable within indoor environments, avoid exposure to direct sunlight and excessive moisture, and verify link speeds on connected equipment after installation. If connecting through patch panels or keystone jacks, ensure proper grounding of the overall shield to achieve the full benefits of S/FTP construction.
