Draka SFTP Patch Cable Cat5e Grey 1m

The Draka SFTP Patch Cable Cat5e Grey 1m is a high-quality networking cable designed to provide reliable connectivity and efficient data transmission in local area networks. Measuring 1 meter in length and finished in a neutral grey color, this cable is engineered for seamless integration into various home and office network setups. It utilizes a shielded twisted pair construction, which effectively minimizes electromagnetic interference and ensures stable signal integrity during high-speed data transfer.

Advantages

This patch cable offers enhanced signal protection through its shielded twisted pair design, significantly reducing potential crosstalk and external interference compared to unshielded alternatives. Its standard Cat5e classification supports dependable network speeds suitable for everyday data processing and internet usage. The compact 1 meter length is particularly useful for reducing cable clutter in confined spaces, such as connecting nearby desktop computers to wall outlets, routers, or network switches.

Suitable for

• Connecting desktop computers to local network routers
• Linking network switches and patch panels within a rack
• Connecting IP cameras and network printers to a local area network
• Home and office network installations requiring secure short-distance connections

When it may not be suitable

This cable may not be appropriate for long-distance network runs that exceed the standard length capabilities of patch cables. Additionally, environments requiring specialized outdoor durability or extreme weather resistance are not suitable for this standard indoor patch cable.

Key specifications

• Cable standard: Cat5e
• Cable type: SFTP (Shielded Foiled Twisted Pair)
• Length: 1 meter
• Color: Grey
• Application: Local area network connectivity

How to use

To use the patch cable, insert one RJ45 connector into the network port of your active device, such as a computer, printer, or IP camera. Insert the opposite connector into an available port on a router, switch, or wall socket until a secure click sound is heard. Ensure the cable is routed safely without sharp bends or excessive pulling to maintain optimal performance.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify that the 1 meter length is sufficient for the distance between your networked devices
• Check that your networking equipment utilizes standard RJ45 ports
• Ensure Cat5e performance levels match your specific network speed requirements

Usage recommendations: Route the cable away from heavy power lines and electrical equipment to minimize potential electromagnetic interference. Avoid tightly coiling or pinching the cable to preserve the internal shielding and conductors.
