Draka Comteq Cat6 F/UTP Patch Cable, 0.5m, Yellow

The Draka Comteq Cat6 F/UTP patch cable is a high-performance networking component engineered for stable and secure data transmission. Measuring 0.5 meters in length, this cable is designed to provide reliable connectivity between network devices such as switches, routers, and computers. The inclusion of F/UTP shielding effectively protects the signal from electromagnetic interference, ensuring consistent network speeds and data integrity in environments where multiple cables are present.

Advantages

This patch cable offers superior signal quality due to its F/UTP shielding, which minimizes crosstalk and external interference. The Cat6 standard supports high-speed data transfer rates, making it suitable for demanding network applications. Its compact 0.5-meter length helps reduce cable clutter in server racks or workstations, while the distinct yellow jacket allows for quick visual identification, simplifying maintenance and troubleshooting in complex cabling infrastructures.

Suitable for

• Connecting computers to wall outlets or patch panels
• Linking network switches and routers in home or office setups
• Organizing structured cabling systems where color-coding is required
• High-speed local area network installations

When it may not be suitable

This cable is not intended for long-distance connections due to its 0.5-meter length. It is also not suitable for outdoor use or environments exposed to extreme moisture, direct sunlight, or harsh industrial chemicals, as it lacks specialized weather-resistant jacketing.

Key specifications

• Category: Cat6
• Shielding type: F/UTP (Foiled Unshielded Twisted Pair)
• Length: 0.5 meters
• Color: Yellow
• Application: Ethernet networking

How to use

To use the cable, simply insert the RJ45 connector into the corresponding port on your networking device until you hear a click. Ensure that the cable is not bent at sharp angles or subjected to excessive tension, as this can damage the internal conductors and degrade performance. When disconnecting, press the locking tab on the connector to release it safely from the port.

What to consider before purchase

• Verify the required length to ensure 0.5 meters is sufficient for your setup
• Check if your network equipment supports Cat6 standards
• Confirm if your environment requires shielded cabling to prevent interference

Usage recommendations

For optimal network performance, avoid running patch cables parallel to power lines and ensure that the cable is routed through appropriate cable management systems to prevent physical strain on the connectors.
