The DYMO LabelWriter 550 is an ink-free, direct thermal label printer designed for PC and Mac. It recognises label sizes automatically and fits into modern workspaces with a compact, portable design. The printer supports multiple label widths up to 56 mm, uses DYMO Authentic LabelWriter labels made from FSC® material, and prints without ink or toner at higher speed compared with the base model.
Automatic label recognition shows label size, type, and remaining quantity for easier setup. Direct thermal printing removes the need for ink or toner, lowering running costs and maintenance. The unit is compact and lightweight for flexible placement, and it prints up to 45% faster than the LabelWriter 550 base model, producing up to 90 labels per minute. Compatible with DYMO Authentic LabelWriter labels that are BPA-free and made from FSC® material.
Connect the DYMO LabelWriter 550 to a PC or Mac using the supplied USB cable and install the driver/software following on-screen instructions. Load a roll of compatible DYMO LabelWriter labels into the compartment; the printer will automatically detect the label size and show the type and remaining quantity. Use the DYMO software or compatible applications to design and send print jobs. Select the correct label size in software and print; the direct thermal mechanism produces labels without ink or toner.
Use only DYMO Authentic LabelWriter labels to ensure correct automatic recognition and reliable print quality. Keep the printer in a dust-free, dry environment and avoid exposing labels to direct sunlight or high heat to preserve print durability.
