Eaton 5PX Gen2 is an uninterruptible power supply designed for IT managers who need high efficiency, accurate energy metering and simplified management. The UPS provides Unity power factor (W=VA) capability for increased usable power, Energy Star 2.0–certified efficiency to lower energy and cooling costs, and a high-quality output in battery mode suitable for sensitive equipment such as active PFC servers. Available in rack-optimized RT2U and RT3U formats, 2200VA and 3000VA models support external hot-swappable battery modules and deliver a compact runtime-to-size ratio.

Advantages

The 5PX Gen2 offers improved usable power compared with many UPS models thanks to its Unity power factor, enabling protection of more servers within the same VA rating. Energy Star 2.0 certification and Eaton’s ABM® battery management technology contribute to reduced operating costs and extended battery lifetime. An intuitive graphical LCD simplifies commissioning and monitoring, while the Eaton Gigabit network management card (included in Netpack models) provides certified cybersecurity and remote management features, including remote firmware updates. The UPS also measures energy consumption down to managed outlet groups, allowing precise kWh monitoring via the display or Intelligent Power Software.

Connect critical equipment to protected outlets and configure load segment groups to prioritize devices for extended runtime. Use the graphical LCD to perform initial commissioning, view operating parameters and check kWh consumption. For remote monitoring and management, install the Eaton Gigabit network management card (Netpack models include the card) and integrate with Eaton Intelligent Power Software or supported virtualization and cloud orchestration tools. To extend runtime, add up to four compatible external hot-swappable battery modules following the manufacturer’s installation instructions.
