The Eaton 5PX Gen2 is a line-interactive uninterruptible power supply (UPS) delivering 3 kVA / 3000 W of output power in a 2U rack/tower form factor. Designed for IT managers and small data center environments, it provides Unity power factor capability, Energy Star 2.0 efficiency, and precise energy metering down to outlet groups. Models include integrated networking and are available in short-depth (RT2U) or 3U (RT3U) formats with included pedestals and rail kits.

Advantages

The 5PX Gen2 offers 11% more usable power compared with many UPS of similar VA rating thanks to Unity power factor, allowing protection of more servers. Energy Star 2.0 certification and high-efficiency operation reduce energy consumption and cooling costs. A graphical LCD presents operating information and simplifies commissioning and configuration, while Eaton ABM® battery management extends battery lifetime. Netpack models include an Eaton Gigabit network management card with dual cybersecurity certifications and enable remote settings, firmware updates and integration with Eaton Cyber Secured Monitoring.

Configure load segment control to define prioritized shutdown groups, set energy metering preferences via the LCD or Eaton Intelligent Power Software, and follow standard battery commissioning procedures before placing the UPS into full service.

Usage recommendations

Monitor kWh readings regularly and enable ABM® battery management to extend battery life. Use the network management features for firmware updates and remote monitoring to reduce on-site maintenance. For extended runtime, add up to four external hot-swappable battery modules supported by the 5PX Gen2.
