The Eaton 5PX Gen2 3 kVA (3000 W) UPS delivers reliable, energy-efficient power protection for servers and sensitive IT equipment. This line-interactive UPS supports a unity power factor (W=VA) and offers higher usable power compared with many competing units. Available in rack (2U) or tower form factors with included pedestals and rail kits, the 5PX Gen2 is designed for flexible deployment in data centers and enterprise IT cabinets. It provides accurate energy metering down to managed outlet groups and integrates with Eaton Intelligent Power Software and Gigabit network management for centralized monitoring and control.

Advantages

The 5PX Gen2 combines high efficiency (Energy Star 2.0 certified) with improved usable power to protect more equipment per unit. A graphical LCD provides immediate operating information and simplifies commissioning. Built-in energy metering reports kWh usage per outlet group and the Eaton Gigabit network management card (included in Netpack models) adds dual cybersecurity certifications and supports remote settings and firmware updates. ABM battery management and support for up to four external hot‑swappable battery modules extend runtime and battery lifetime.

How to use

Install the UPS in a rack (2U) or on a pedestal/tower following the included rail kit and pedestal instructions. Connect critical equipment to the UPS outlets, separating non‑essential loads into the managed outlet groups if prioritized shutdown is required. Configure network settings and energy metering via the LCD or through Eaton Intelligent Power Software and, for Netpack units, the Gigabit network management card. Periodically check battery status on the display and through management software.

Usage recommendations

For optimal runtime, enable load segment control to prioritize essential devices and consider adding up to four external hot‑swappable battery modules for extended autonomy. Use Eaton’s ABM battery management settings to extend battery life, and allow remote firmware updates via the Gigabit management card to maintain security and performance.
