Mechanical Pencil Leads Edding 8891 Grey 10H 2.0–5.0 mm, pack of 6
Edding 8891 grey replacement leads, hardness 10H, are engineered for precise technical drawing and detailed sketching. Designed for use with mechanical pencils that accept 2.0–5.0 mm leads, this pack of 6 extra-hard leads delivers consistently fine, light lines and extended wear. The grey tone and high hardness level reduce smudging and maintain line fidelity during repetitive drafting tasks, making these leads appropriate for professional and educational environments where accuracy is essential.
The 10H hardness provides an extra-hard writing core that resists breakage under light pressure and produces thin, controlled strokes suitable for fine detail work. The uniform composition of the leads ensures consistent line width and tonal uniformity across the pack. Compatibility with a range of 2.0–5.0 mm mechanical pencil barrels offers flexibility for different pencil designs. The grey color gives good contrast without the intensity of black graphite, aiding visibility in layered drawings and when scanning originals.
Insert a lead into a compatible mechanical pencil designed for 2.0–5.0 mm leads according to the pencil manufacturer’s instructions. Advance the lead in small increments to avoid excessive exposure, which can increase the risk of breakage. Use light, controlled pressure for the finest lines; apply slightly firmer pressure only when necessary, keeping in mind that 10H leads are much harder than standard graphite and will produce lighter marks. Replace the lead when line clarity diminishes or if it becomes worn or damaged.
Store leads flat in a dry place away from extreme temperatures to preserve hardness and prevent moisture-related surface changes. For reproducible scans and photocopies, combine these grey 10H leads with darker leads for final outlines and annotations. When erasing, use a soft eraser to avoid paper damage and reduce the chance of smearing.
