The Edifier R1280Ts 2-way speaker delivers 42 W RMS of undistorted power in a compact near-field design. Built with a 4-inch bass driver and a ½-inch silk-dome tweeter, the speaker offers studio-quality sound suitable for gaming, movies and music. The cabinet uses MDF with a walnut-finish vinyl for reduced resonance and a classic wood appearance. Wired connectivity and dual RCA inputs let you connect a computer, phone, tablet or console, and a dedicated sub-out port supports an external powered subwoofer.

Advantages

Soundfield Spatializer expands the perceived soundstage by optimizing channel signals for better separation. A removable mesh grill protects the drivers and can be taken off for cleaning. Precise analog controls on the side panel allow adjustment of bass, treble and volume. The included wireless remote controls volume, mute/unmute and toggles the soundfield extension for convenient operation. Automatic sub-out detection activates the digital crossover when a powered subwoofer is connected.

How to use

Place the active speaker and passive speaker on stable stands or a desk at near-field listening distance, aiming tweeters toward the listening position. Connect the audio source using RCA-to-RCA or 3.5 mm-to-RCA cable into the dual RCA inputs. Use the side dials to set volume, bass and treble. If you attach an active subwoofer to the sub-out port, the speaker will detect it and enable the internal digital crossover automatically. Use the included wireless remote to adjust volume, mute/unmute and toggle the Soundfield Spatializer without leaving your seat.

Usage recommendations

For best results in critical listening, position the speakers so they form an equilateral triangle with your listening position and keep them away from room corners to reduce bass buildup. Remove the mesh grill for cleaning only and replace it to protect the drivers during regular use.
