The Alpenföhn Black Ridge is a low-profile CPU cooler developed in cooperation with DAN Cases. It features black nickel plating, six 6×6 mm heatpipes and a compact large heatsink designed to allow up to 33 mm memory height. With a bottom-mounted 92 mm PWM fan the cooler achieves a maximum overall height of 47 mm, making it suitable for many small form-factor builds and mini-ITX systems.

Advantages

Black nickel finish and six heatpipes provide efficient heat transfer within a compact footprint. Bottom-mounted PWM fan reduces vertical clearance while maintaining necessary airflow. The included screw mounting system is optimized for mini-ITX motherboards to improve compatibility. Optional mounting brackets allow installation of larger fans for higher cooling capacity when space permits.

How to use

Install the screw mounting system provided, following the motherboard-compatible orientation for mini-ITX boards. Mount the cooler so the 92 mm PWM fan is positioned on the bottom of the heatsink for standard low-profile configuration. If increased cooling is required and case space allows, swap to the alternative mounting brackets to fit a 120 mm fan on the bottom or top as specified; this may improve performance but depends on the fan model used. Connect the fan to a 4-pin PWM header on the motherboard to enable automatic speed control.

Recommendations

Please note that Black Ridge is designed for compact systems and supports CPUs up to a 95 W TDP. Overclocking is not recommended. Systems with unlocked K/X/C series processors or motherboards that remove TDP limits may exceed the cooler’s capacity even if the CPU’s nominal TDP is within limits; verify BIOS power settings and consider higher-capacity cooling or better-case airflow when necessary.
