How to use

Switch on the HT101 and observe the LCD to confirm the device is operational. Place the tip of the tester close to the conductor, socket or terminal to be tested without making electrical contact. Move the tester along the cable or around the outlet while watching the LED and the LCD. When voltage is present the LED will illuminate and the device will emit audible and light signals; the LCD will display status information. For phase detection, follow the same procedure near each phase conductor to determine presence or absence of voltage. After testing, switch off the device and remove batteries if long-term storage is planned.

Usage recommendations

Use the HT101 only as a preliminary non-contact check; always follow established safety procedures and verify de-energisation with a suitable contact testing instrument before performing work. Ensure batteries are in good condition and the LCD/LED respond correctly prior to use. Do not rely on the tester in wet conditions or on heavily shielded cables where non-contact detection may be unreliable.
