Protective DENSO PCV Tape 100 mm by ELKO-BIS (model 11210099)
Protective DENSO PCV Tape 100 mm by ELKO-BIS is a self-adhesive protective tape designed for corrosion protection, sealing and insulation of pipelines, joints and metal surfaces. With a 100 mm width, the tape conforms to irregular shapes and creates a durable, moisture- and chemical-resistant coating suitable for both above-ground and buried installations. The product is intended for field application where a continuous protective layer is required to prevent contact with soil, water and atmospheric contaminants.
The tape provides a conformable, self-adhesive system that adheres to metal and other common construction materials without additional primers in many applications. Its formulation offers resistance to moisture, many common chemicals and to mechanical abrasion when applied correctly. The 100 mm width balances coverage and handling, allowing efficient wrapping of pipes, fittings and joints while reducing the number of overlaps. The product is suitable for outdoor and underground use where a long-lasting protective barrier is needed.
The tape is intended as a protective wrap and is not a structural repair material; it should not be used where mechanical strength or load-bearing repair is required. It may not adhere properly to wet, heavily contaminated or oily surfaces; surface preparation is necessary to achieve long-term adhesion. For applications requiring extremely high temperature resistance or continuous immersion in aggressive solvents not compatible with PVC-based materials, alternative systems should be considered.
Ensure the surface is clean, dry and free of loose rust, scale, grease and other contaminants. For best results, remove heavy corrosion and apply a suitable primer where recommended by project specifications. Unroll the tape and wrap tightly around the pipe or fitting with a recommended overlap to form a continuous protective layer; apply sufficient tension to conform the tape to irregular shapes and ensure sealing at edges. Smooth the tape to remove air pockets and finish ends by pressing firmly to secure adhesion. For buried applications, verify compatibility with backfill materials and follow local installation standards.
Apply in dry conditions where possible, follow manufacturer guidance on overlap and tension, and perform regular inspections after installation to ensure the protective coating remains intact. For critical systems, combine with appropriate primers or outer protective layers as specified by project requirements.
