EM Group PG16 Cable Gland IP68 Polyamide
The EM Group PG16 cable gland is a robust polyamide fitting engineered to provide secure cable entry and effective strain relief for various electrical installations. Designed to maintain the integrity of enclosures, this component ensures that cables are held firmly in place while preventing mechanical stress on connections. Its construction from high-quality polyamide offers excellent durability and resistance to environmental factors, making it a reliable choice for professional electrical systems.
This cable gland features an IP68 protection rating, which guarantees complete protection against dust ingress and immersion in water under specified pressure conditions. The use of high-grade polyamide material ensures high impact resistance and long-term stability, even in demanding industrial environments. Its design facilitates quick and easy installation, providing a tight seal that protects internal components from moisture, dirt, and debris, thereby extending the service life of the connected equipment.
This product may not be suitable for high-temperature environments exceeding the thermal limits of polyamide or for applications involving exposure to aggressive chemicals that could degrade the plastic material. It is also not intended for use in high-pressure steam cleaning areas or environments with extreme mechanical vibration that might require metallic fittings.
To install the cable gland, first prepare the enclosure by drilling a hole of the appropriate diameter. Insert the gland body through the hole and secure it firmly using the provided locknut from the inside of the enclosure. Feed the cable through the gland, then tighten the dome nut to compress the internal sealing ring around the cable jacket. This action creates a secure, watertight seal and provides the necessary strain relief to prevent the cable from being pulled out.
For optimal performance and safety, ensure the dome nut is tightened sufficiently to create a firm seal around the cable, but avoid overtightening, which could damage the plastic threads or the sealing gasket. Regularly inspect the installation for signs of wear or loosening, especially in environments subject to thermal cycling or mechanical movement.
