EM Group PG 21 Polyamide Cable Gland IP68
The EM Group PG 21 polyamide cable gland is a robust and reliable solution designed for secure cable entry into electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and control panels. Engineered for durability, this component provides a high level of environmental protection, ensuring that cables remain firmly in place while being shielded from external elements. Its construction from high-quality polyamide makes it resistant to mechanical stress and various environmental conditions, making it an essential part of professional electrical installations.
This cable gland offers superior sealing capabilities, effectively preventing the ingress of dust and moisture to maintain the integrity of internal electrical components. The polyamide material provides excellent chemical resistance and long-term durability, even in challenging industrial environments. Furthermore, the design incorporates effective strain relief, which protects cables from tension and prevents accidental disconnection, thereby enhancing the overall safety and longevity of the electrical system.
This product is not intended for use in environments with extreme heat or fire hazards where metal cable glands might be required for higher temperature resistance. It is also not suitable for applications involving exposure to highly corrosive chemicals that could degrade polyamide materials over time.
To install the cable gland, first ensure that the mounting hole is of the appropriate size for the PG 21 thread. Insert the gland body through the enclosure wall and secure it firmly using the provided locknut from the inside. Once the gland is fixed, loosen the dome nut, pass the cable through the assembly, and tighten the dome nut securely. This action compresses the internal seal around the cable jacket, creating a watertight and dust-tight connection.
For optimal performance, ensure that the dome nut is tightened sufficiently to compress the seal around the cable, but avoid overtightening, which could damage the plastic threads. Regularly inspect the connection during routine maintenance to ensure the seal remains intact.
