EM Group PG 29 Polyamide Cable Gland IP68
The EM Group PG 29 polyamide cable gland is a robust and reliable solution designed for the secure entry of cables into electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and control panels. Engineered from high-grade polyamide, this fitting offers exceptional mechanical strength and durability, ensuring that cables remain firmly in place while being protected from environmental hazards. With its IP68 ingress protection rating, the gland provides a complete seal against dust ingress and is capable of withstanding prolonged immersion in water, making it an essential component for maintaining the integrity of electrical systems in challenging industrial settings.
This cable gland excels due to its high-quality construction which provides superior resistance to impact and corrosion compared to metal alternatives. The integrated sealing mechanism offers excellent strain relief, preventing cables from being pulled out or damaged at the connection point. Its lightweight polyamide design simplifies installation while ensuring a long service life even in harsh conditions. The precise threading ensures a tight fit, effectively preventing moisture and contaminants from entering sensitive equipment housings.
This product is not intended for use in environments with extreme heat or fire hazards where metallic glands are required for flame-retardant properties. It is also not suitable for applications involving high-pressure steam cleaning or exposure to specific aggressive chemicals that may degrade polyamide materials.
To install the cable gland, first ensure the enclosure has a correctly sized hole for the PG 29 thread. Insert the gland body through the opening and secure it firmly using the provided locknut from the inside of the enclosure. Once the gland is fixed, loosen the dome nut, pass the cable through the center, and tighten the dome nut securely. This action compresses the internal seal around the cable jacket, creating a watertight and dustproof connection.
For optimal performance and to maintain the IP68 rating, ensure that the dome nut is tightened sufficiently to compress the seal evenly around the cable. Avoid over-tightening with excessive force to prevent damage to the plastic threads.
