Temperature & humidity sensor Homematic IP HmIP-SWO-PR
The Homematic IP HmIP-SWO-PR temperature & humidity sensor is a freestanding outdoor sensor designed to monitor environmental conditions in gardens, terraces and other exterior areas. The device measures ambient temperature and relative humidity and transmits measured values to a Homematic IP smart home system for monitoring and automation. It is battery-powered and built for straightforward placement outdoors without the need for complex mounting.
The sensor provides continuous measurement of temperature and humidity with wireless transmission to Homematic IP controllers, enabling integration into weather-related automations such as ventilation control, frost protection or irrigation scheduling. Its freestanding design simplifies installation and relocation while battery operation removes the need for external power. The housing is intended for outdoor use and contributes to reliable data collection in exposed locations.
Place the sensor in a representative outdoor location sheltered from direct sunlight and heavy precipitation where it can measure ambient air rather than surfaces. Insert the 1.5 V LR6 battery following the manufacturer’s instructions, then pair the sensor with the Homematic IP access point or compatible controller using the system’s pairing procedure. After pairing, verify transmitted values in the Homematic IP app and position the sensor to avoid heat sources or reflective surfaces that could distort measurements.
For accurate readings, avoid placing the sensor in direct sun, directly above heated surfaces, or too close to large water features. Replace the battery according to the device’s low-battery notifications and perform periodic visual inspections of the housing to ensure continued outdoor protection.
