Ergom PG9 Polyamide Cable Gland IP68 Grey
The Ergom PG9 polyamide cable gland is a high-quality component engineered for the secure and reliable entry of cables into electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and control panels. Constructed from durable polyamide, this gland provides essential strain relief, preventing cables from being pulled or damaged while maintaining a robust connection. With an IP68 ingress protection rating, it offers complete protection against dust ingress and is capable of withstanding immersion in water, making it an ideal solution for maintaining the integrity of electrical systems in challenging industrial environments.
This cable gland excels due to its high-grade polyamide construction, which offers excellent mechanical strength and resistance to environmental factors. The design ensures a uniform and tight seal around the cable, which effectively prevents moisture and contaminants from entering the housing. Its compact and lightweight nature allows for easy installation in tight spaces, while the reliable locking mechanism ensures that the cable remains firmly in place even under vibration or mechanical stress, thereby extending the service life of the electrical installation.
This product is designed for standard PG9 thread applications and may not be compatible with enclosures requiring different thread standards such as metric or NPT. Furthermore, it is intended for use with specific cable diameters; using it with cables that are too thin or too thick will prevent the seal from functioning correctly, compromising the IP68 rating.
To install the Ergom PG9 cable gland, first insert the threaded body through the pre-drilled hole in your enclosure wall. Secure it firmly from the inside using the provided locknut. Once the gland is mounted, loosen the dome nut slightly, pass your cable through the gland, and tighten the dome nut until the internal seal compresses firmly around the cable jacket. This action ensures both a secure grip on the cable and a watertight seal.
For optimal performance and to maintain the IP68 rating, ensure that the dome nut is tightened sufficiently to compress the internal seal against the cable jacket, but avoid overtightening, which could damage the plastic threads.
