Ergom PG16 Polyamide Cable Gland IP68 Black
The Ergom PG16 polyamide cable gland is a robust solution designed for the secure entry of cables into electrical enclosures, junction boxes, and control panels. Engineered for durability and reliability, this connector provides effective strain relief, preventing cables from being pulled or twisted, which protects internal connections from damage. Its high-quality polyamide construction ensures resistance to mechanical stress and environmental factors, making it a dependable choice for professional electrical installations.
This cable gland offers superior protection against environmental hazards thanks to its IP68 ingress protection rating. It creates a completely dust-tight and waterproof seal, ensuring that sensitive electrical components remain dry and free from debris even in challenging conditions. The lightweight yet strong polyamide material provides excellent chemical resistance and long-term stability, while the design allows for quick and easy installation without the need for specialized tools.
This product is not intended for use in environments with extreme temperatures that exceed the thermal limits of polyamide material. It is also not suitable for applications involving high-pressure steam cleaning or direct exposure to aggressive chemicals that may degrade plastic components over time.
To install the cable gland, first insert the body of the gland through the pre-drilled hole in your enclosure wall and secure it firmly using the provided locknut. Feed the cable through the gland until it reaches the desired position inside the enclosure. Tighten the dome nut by hand or with a suitable wrench to compress the internal sealing ring around the cable jacket. This action creates the necessary seal and provides the required strain relief for the cable.
For optimal performance and to maintain the IP68 rating, ensure the dome nut is tightened sufficiently to create a uniform seal around the cable. Avoid over-tightening, which could damage the threads or the sealing gasket.
