To install the Ergom M20 cable gland, first ensure that the enclosure hole is appropriately sized for an M20 thread. Insert the gland body through the opening and secure it firmly using the provided locknut from the inside of the enclosure. Once the gland is fixed, loosen the dome nut, pass the cable through the gland, and tighten the dome nut securely. This action compresses the internal sealing ring around the cable jacket, creating a watertight and dust-tight seal while providing the necessary strain relief.
For optimal performance and to maintain the IP68 rating, ensure that the cable is inserted straight and that the dome nut is tightened sufficiently to compress the internal seal evenly around the cable sheath. Avoid over-tightening with metal tools to prevent damage to the polyamide threads.
