Ergom MWO 16M/9 Cable Gland IP66
The Ergom MWO 16M/9 cable gland is a professional-grade component engineered to provide secure cable entry and effective strain relief for electrical enclosures. Designed to maintain the integrity of electrical systems, this gland ensures that cables are held firmly in place while preventing mechanical stress from damaging the connection points. Its robust construction makes it an essential element for maintaining safety and reliability in various electrical distribution setups.
This cable gland offers superior protection against environmental factors, featuring an IP66 ingress protection rating that guarantees a complete seal against dust ingress and powerful water jets. The high-quality materials used in its manufacturing ensure long-term durability and resistance to harsh conditions, which minimizes the need for frequent maintenance. By providing a reliable grip on the cable, it effectively prevents accidental pull-outs and protects internal wiring from vibrations and external tension.
This product is not intended for use in environments requiring submersion in water or high-pressure steam cleaning, as it is rated for IP66 protection rather than full waterproofing. It may also be unsuitable for specialized hazardous areas that require explosion-proof certification.
To install the Ergom MWO 16M/9 cable gland, first ensure that the mounting hole in the enclosure is of the correct diameter to accommodate the M16 thread. Insert the gland body through the hole and secure it firmly using the provided locknut from the inside of the enclosure. Once the gland is fixed, loosen the dome nut, pass the cable through the gland, and tighten the dome nut until the internal seal compresses securely around the cable sheath to create a watertight and dust-tight connection.
For optimal performance and to maintain the IP66 seal, ensure that the dome nut is tightened sufficiently to compress the internal gasket evenly around the cable. Avoid over-tightening with excessive force, as this may damage the plastic threads.
