Ergom KWI 6/6 Insulated Fork Terminal, 6 mm²
The Ergom KWI 6/6 insulated fork terminal is a high-quality electrical component engineered for secure and reliable wire termination. Designed specifically for conductors with a cross-section of 6 mm², this fork terminal facilitates efficient connections in a wide range of electrical systems. The integrated insulation enhances safety by preventing accidental contact and short circuits, ensuring a professional finish for every installation.
This fork terminal offers exceptional mechanical stability and electrical conductivity, which are critical for maintaining consistent performance in demanding environments. The durable insulation material provides reliable protection against environmental factors, while the fork design allows for quick and easy installation under screw terminals without the need to fully remove the fastener. Its robust construction ensures a long service life and resistance to vibration, making it a dependable choice for both industrial and residential wiring projects.
This terminal is not intended for use with conductors outside the specified 6 mm² cross-section range, as improper sizing can lead to loose connections or overheating. It is also not suitable for high-temperature environments that exceed the thermal rating of the insulation material or for applications requiring a permanent, non-removable crimp connection where a ring terminal might be preferred for higher pull-out resistance.
To use the Ergom KWI 6/6 terminal, first strip the insulation from the end of your 6 mm² wire to the appropriate length. Insert the stripped conductor into the metal barrel of the terminal. Use a professional crimping tool specifically designed for insulated terminals to compress the barrel firmly onto the wire, ensuring a gas-tight connection. Once crimped, the fork end can be slid under the head of a screw terminal, and the screw should be tightened securely to complete the electrical path.
Always perform a pull test after crimping to ensure the wire is securely fastened within the terminal. Ensure that the crimping tool is calibrated correctly to avoid damaging the insulation or creating a weak electrical connection.
