BakkerElkhuizen Evoluent Mouse Standard Right Hand Vertical Optical USB 1500 DPI
The Evoluent Standard Right is a basic vertical mouse for right-handed users that provides an ergonomic grip and straightforward operation. It has a vertical shape designed to support a neutral arm and wrist position, and it connects to a computer via a wired USB Type-A cable. The model uses optical tracking at a fixed resolution of 1500 DPI and includes a scroll wheel and three buttons.
The vertical shape reduces pronation and helps maintain a more natural hand posture during extended computer use. Plug & Play installation makes the mouse ready to use immediately without additional software. The long 2.1 m cable allows flexible desktop arrangements while the wired connection ensures stable tracking and no battery management.
Connect the USB Type-A cable to an available USB port on your computer. The mouse is recognized automatically through Plug & Play and requires no driver installation for basic functions. Place your hand on the vertical grip so the thumb rests on the recessed thumb area and fingers align with the main buttons; move the mouse on a flat surface to control the pointer and use the scroll wheel to navigate documents and web pages.
For ergonomic benefit, alternate short breaks and vary tasks to avoid prolonged static positions. Ensure your forearm is supported by the desk or an armrest so the wrist remains in a neutral posture while using the vertical mouse.
The Evoluent Standard Right is the simplest Evoluent mouse. As mentioned above, it has two buttons for right and left click and a scroll wheel. The fixed DPI value of 1500 is suitable for common computer tasks. These standard functions offer easy handling and quick familiarisation.

Prolonged use of a regular mouse can lead to pain and discomfort in the shoulders, forearms and hands (Chang et al., 2007 & Andersen et al., 2008). The handshake position of vertical mice reduces wrist bending to the side and decreases inward rotation of the forearm (Schmid et al., 2015). This results in less muscle activity in the forearm compared with a conventional mouse (Quemelo & Vieira, 2013). Research has also shown that using a vertical joystick mouse can speed recovery from forearm, wrist and hand complaints (Aarås et al., 2001). Therefore, vertical mice provide a healthier and more comfortable way of working compared with standard mice.

The patented shape of the Evoluent Standard Right supports your hand in an upright, neutral posture that avoids forearm twisting. You hold the vertical mouse in the so-called handshake position, which increases comfort and helps prevent physical pain during computer work.
