Fluorescent Tube T5 Exo Terra Reptile UVB200 for Terrarium, 39 W, 85 cm
Fluorescent Tube T5 Exo Terra Reptile UVB200 for Terrarium, 39 W, 85 cm
Exo Terra Reptile UVB200 T5 fluorescent tube, 39 W and 85 cm long, supplies a controlled spectrum of UVB radiation for terrarium use. Designed for reptiles that need UVB to produce vitamin D3 and maintain normal calcium metabolism, this lamp is intended for installation in T5-compatible fixtures above the basking area or across the enclosure to provide daily UV supplementation. The tube produces a balanced output appropriate for many diurnal reptile species when installed at recommended distances and used according to husbandry guidelines.
The T5 format provides a compact, efficient light source with consistent UVB output across its length, making it suitable for longer enclosures or for focused placement over basking zones. With 39 W of power and an 85 cm length, this fluorescent tube delivers stable UVB levels without excessive heat at the lamp surface, allowing placement closer to mesh or screen tops when recommended by species care sheets. The design supports even illumination and simple replacement in standard T5 fixtures.
Install the tube in a T5-compatible fixture positioned above the terrarium, ideally over the chosen basking area. Ensure the fixture and any reflectors are rated for the lamp wattage and type. Follow reptile-specific husbandry recommendations for distance between the lamp and the basking surface to achieve appropriate UVB exposure; distances vary by species and enclosure setup. Operate the lamp on a daily photoperiod consistent with the animal’s natural activity cycle, and combine with appropriate heat sources and hiding areas to allow thermoregulation.
Replace the tube according to manufacturer guidance or when UVB output declines; visible light may remain while UVB output decreases, so periodic replacement ensures effective UV supplementation. Do not use with fixtures or ballasts not designed for T5 fluorescent lamps. Monitor animal behaviour and health for signs of insufficient or excessive UV exposure and adjust lamp placement or photoperiod accordingly.
