Interface Card Exsys EX-42062 Internal Serial
The Exsys EX-42062 Internal Serial interface card is a PCI communication adapter that provides two serial ports with RS-422/485 signaling via two 9-pin connectors. Designed for standard PCI (3.3V and 5V, PCI-X 1.0) slots, the card uses dual 16C550 FIFO UARTs to ensure stable serial data transfer and is intended for internal installation in desktop or embedded systems. It supports a range of Windows operating systems and operates within a temperature range of 32 to 131 °F.
The EX-42062 offers dual RS-422/485 serial channels in a single PCI card, with FIFO 16C550 UARTs that reduce processor overhead during data transfers. Compatibility with both 3.3V and 5V PCI slots increases installation flexibility. The compact internal design fits standard PCI slots and provides wired serial connectivity for industrial and legacy equipment.
Install the EX-42062 into an available PCI slot on a powered-off system, ensuring the slot supports 3.3V or 5V PCI signaling. Secure the card with the slot bracket screw and connect serial devices to the 9-pin connectors or use the optional EX-47999 adapter for terminal-block connections if required. Install appropriate drivers for your Windows version (for example Windows 2000, Windows XP, Windows 7) and configure serial port parameters (baud rate, parity, stop bits) in the host application or operating system device manager.
Use shielded serial cables and proper grounding when connecting RS-422/485 devices to reduce noise and ensure reliable communication; select the EX-47999 adapter if terminal-block wiring is needed for field installations.
