Interface Card EXSYS EX-44388
The EXSYS EX-44388 PCI-Express interface card provides eight serial RS-232 high-performance UART 16C1050 ports. It is designed to add eight additional serial ports to a PC, small workstation or server via the PCI Express bus and is suitable for low-profile systems. The card is fully PCI-Express plug-and-play compatible and avoids IRQ and I/O address conflicts. Pin 9 of each serial connector can be configured to supply either +5V or +12V for POS or powered serial devices. A low-profile bracket is included for installation in narrow PC cases.
The EX-44388 offers eight independent RS-232 ports on a single PCIe card, using 16C1050 high-performance UARTs for stable serial communication. Its plug-and-play PCIe compatibility simplifies installation without manual IRQ or I/O configuration. The configurable Pin 9 power option (+5V or +12V) supports POS peripherals and other powered serial devices. The supplied low-profile bracket enables fitting into slim chassis.
Install the EX-44388 into an available PCIe slot on a powered-off computer, secure the card with the appropriate bracket (standard or low-profile) and reconnect power. Boot the system; the card is PCI-Express plug-and-play and should be recognized by the operating system. Configure serial port parameters (baud rate, data bits, stop bits, parity and flow control) in your OS or application software according to the device requirements. If powering a peripheral from pin 9, select the required +5V or +12V option before connecting the device.
Use shielded serial cables and secure connectors to maintain signal integrity in industrial or electrically noisy environments. Verify device power requirements before enabling pin 9 power to avoid damage to peripherals.
