The extra digital CA916030 HDMI Extender transmits HDMI video and audio signals over a single Ethernet cable (Cat5e or Cat6) up to 200 meters and supports 1080p resolution with H.264 decoding. The kit includes a transmitter (TX) and receiver (RX) with plug-and-play hardware design and works with standard Ethernet switches to enable point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and cascade connection topologies for distributed displays, presentations and AV installations.

How to use

Connect the HDMI source to the transmitter’s HDMI-IN port and the display to the receiver’s HDMI-OUT port. Link the transmitter and receiver with a Cat5e or Cat6 Ethernet cable directly for point-to-point use or via an Ethernet switch for point-to-multipoint or cascade configurations. Power both units with the supplied 5V/1A adapters. Use the RESET button to restart a unit if necessary; monitor the PWR, HDMI and LINK LEDs to verify power, signal and network connection.

Usage recommendations

For reliable operation at longer distances use good-quality Cat6 cable, keep cable runs away from strong electromagnetic interference sources, and ensure network switches support full-duplex Gigabit Ethernet where multiple receivers are used. Verify compatibility of connected displays with the supported resolutions (480p/720p/1080p).
