HDMI extender extra digital CA916160 — up to 150 m over Ethernet
The extra digital HDMI extender CA916160 transmits HDMI video and audio signals over a single Ethernet cable (Cat5e or Cat6) for distances up to 150 m. Designed for situations where running long HDMI cables is impractical, the device supports point-to-point, point-to-multipoint and cascade modes via a network switch and includes local loop-out for a monitor near the source. The extender supports common HDMI resolutions up to 1080p and HDCP 1.4 content protection.
The extender uses standard Cat5e/Cat6 cabling and the TCP/IP protocol to deliver HDMI up to 150 m, reducing cable cost and complexity. It supports MJPEG decoding, IR control for remote operation, and a local HDMI loop-out so a display can be attached next to the source. The unit is plug-and-play without additional software and can work in point-to-point, point-to-multipoint or cascaded setups for flexible installations.
Connect the HDMI source to the transmitter HDMI-IN and attach the local HDMI-OUT if a nearby monitor is required. Use a Cat5e or Cat6 cable from the transmitter Ethernet port to the receiver Ethernet port; for point-to-multipoint setups route the transmitter through an Ethernet switch to multiple receivers. Plug the supplied 5V/1A power adapters into both transmitter and receiver, and use the IR-TX/IR-RX ports if remote IR control is needed. The units are plug-and-play; no additional software is required.
For best performance use good-quality Cat6 cable on runs close to the 150 m limit, keep connectors and cable runs away from strong electromagnetic interference sources, and verify device HDCP compatibility with source and display devices before installation.
