Extralink SC/APC fast connector (male) in black and green is a single-mode SC/APC field connector designed for quick termination and temporary connections without fusion splicing. The connector provides a compact SC/APC interface suitable for FTTH applications, cable repairs, test setups and fast cross-connections. Typical insertion loss does not exceed 0.3 dB, making it appropriate for installations and troubleshooting where a reliable APC-style connection is required.
This fast connector enables rapid assembly in the field, eliminating the need for fusion splicing and reducing installation time. Its SC/APC interface preserves the angled-polish geometry to minimise back reflection, and the small footprint fits standard SC adapters and patch panels. The connector’s construction allows repeated mating cycles for temporary links and testing while maintaining stable single-mode performance.
Prepare the single-mode fiber by stripping and cleaning the jacket and buffer according to standard practice, then cleave the fiber to the required length. Insert the prepared fiber into the fast connector following the manufacturer’s assembly steps until it seats firmly; no fusion splicing is required. After assembly, verify the connection in a standard SC/APC adapter or patch panel and measure insertion loss and return loss to confirm acceptable performance.
Use this connector for quick field terminations and temporary links where SC/APC compatibility and low back reflection are important. Store unused connectors in a dust-free environment and protect connector end faces with caps when not connected.
