Power Supply Extralink AD-55A 12V 55W with Battery Charger
The Extralink AD-55A 12V 55W with Battery Charger is a buffer power supply designed to deliver stable low-voltage DC power and to maintain operation of connected equipment during mains failures. It accepts a wide AC input range of 100–240V and provides a selectable DC output around 12V/13.8V with a maximum output power of 55W. Housed in a perforated metal enclosure finished in grey, the unit includes a built-in battery charger input for connection of an external backup battery to supply energy when mains power is lost.
The metal housing with perforation improves airflow and helps dissipate heat for more efficient cooling, supporting long-term reliable operation. Screw terminal blocks are clearly marked for safe and correct wiring, and an adjustable potentiometer allows fine-tuning of the output voltage within the specified range. The integrated battery charging function and the ability to switch to battery supply in the event of mains interruption ensure continuity of service for sensitive devices.
Install the unit in a ventilated location and secure it according to local electrical regulations. Connect the AC input to a single-phase mains supply within the rated 100–240V range. Wire the DC output and the battery terminals using appropriately sized cables and the marked screw terminals, observing correct polarity. Use the potentiometer to set the required output voltage for the connected equipment and to configure the correct charging voltage for the connected battery. After wiring, verify voltage levels and ensure the external battery is compatible and properly charged before relying on backup operation.
Use an external battery with the recommended voltage and capacity for the expected backup time, and ensure regular inspection of wiring and ventilation openings. Avoid installing the unit in damp or excessively dusty environments and keep sufficient clearance around the enclosure for airflow. If unsure about installation or battery selection, consult a qualified electrician or installer.
