FACOT TEFPRO2512F PTFE Thread Seal Tape
The FACOT TEFPRO2512F PTFE thread seal tape is a professional-grade solution engineered for creating secure, leak-proof connections in plumbing and heating systems. Crafted from high-quality Teflon, this white tape provides a reliable seal for both metal and plastic threaded pipes, ensuring long-term performance in demanding environments. Its robust construction offers excellent chemical resistance and stability across a wide temperature range, making it a versatile component for various piping installations.
This PTFE tape stands out due to its exceptional thermal stability, allowing it to function effectively in extreme conditions ranging from -60°C to 260°C. The material is chemically inert, which prevents degradation when exposed to various fluids and gases. Its 0.2 mm thickness provides a substantial barrier that fills thread gaps efficiently, while the 25 mm width ensures broad coverage for larger pipe diameters. Because it is non-adhesive, it allows for easy disassembly of joints in the future without damaging the threads.
This tape may not be suitable for high-pressure hydraulic systems or applications involving aggressive chemicals that specifically require specialized sealant compounds. It is also not intended for use on non-threaded connections or as a structural adhesive for pipe repairs.
To apply the tape, ensure the pipe threads are clean, dry, and free of debris. Begin at the end of the pipe, wrapping the tape in the direction of the thread. Maintain consistent tension while wrapping to ensure the tape conforms tightly to the thread profile. Overlap each layer by approximately half the width of the tape. Continue wrapping until the threads are adequately covered, then tear the tape and press the end firmly against the connection. Screw the fitting onto the pipe, ensuring it is tightened to the manufacturer's recommended torque.
For optimal results, avoid over-wrapping the threads, as excessive tape can cause the fitting to crack or prevent a proper seal. Always check for leaks after installation by pressurizing the system gradually.
