FISCHER 090917 is a metal threaded anchor (GKM S K) designed for pre-positioned installation in plasterboard and gypsum fibreboard. The anchor is 31 mm long and is supplied in a set of 6 with matching 4.5×35 mm chipboard screws. It is intended for quick fastening of lightweight fixtures such as lights, pictures and small electrical fittings in single or double-layer drywall constructions, supporting fixture thicknesses up to 9 mm.

Advantages

The metal construction of the GKM provides compatibility with gypsum plasterboard and gypsum fibreboard and accepts a wide range of screws, hooks and eye screws. Its sharp, self-tapping thread cuts into the board to create a positive-fit connection and deliver high load-bearing capacity for a lightweight fixing. The cross-drive recess allows installation with a standard screwdriver or bit, so no special setting tool is required. When it may not be suitable

The GKM is not intended for use in tiled plasterboard or in substrates other than gypsum plasterboard and gypsum fibreboard. For double-planked gypsum boards and gypsum fibreboard a Ø 8 mm pre-drill is required; in single-layer plasterboard no pre-drilling is necessary. Avoid overtightening the screw when driving with a cordless screwdriver to prevent damage to the board or loss of holding performance.

How to use

For single-layer plasterboard, position the anchor in the pre-drilled or pre-positioned hole flush with the board surface and drive the included chipboard screw manually or with a cordless screwdriver until the head is flush. For gypsum fibreboard or double-planked plasterboard, pre-drill a Ø 8 mm hole before inserting the anchor, then drive the screw. Limit the torque when using battery-operated screwdrivers to avoid overtightening; the anchor creates its own positive-fit thread as it is driven into the board.
