The fischer FID II insulation plug is designed for fixing lightweight attachments to external thermal insulation composite systems (ETICS). Manufactured from glass-fiber reinforced plastic, it provides stable anchoring in common insulation materials. The plug's special tip geometry enables screwing through plaster layers up to 10 mm without pre-drilling in many cases, and the small head diameter results in a nearly invisible edge when mounting narrow fixtures. The product is supplied in a pack suitable for use with standard screws of 3.5–4.5 mm diameter.
The FID II accepts standard screws with diameters from 3.5 to 4.5 mm, allowing flexible selection of fasteners. Its glass fiber reinforced plastic body gives maximum stability while keeping weight low. The minimal head diameter and underhead milling pockets ensure a flush, concealed finish even with narrow attachments. Special tip geometry provides combined centering, milling and cutting functions so the plug can be driven accurately and often without pre-drilling through plaster up to 10 mm. Installation can be performed with a standard TX40 bit.
Place the FID II plug on the required point on the ETICS and drive it in using a cordless screwdriver with a TX40 bit. For thicker plaster layers, pre-drilling is recommended to ensure correct seating. During installation the tip combines centering, milling and cutting so the plug advances accurately and anchors in the insulation without destroying the plaster. After pre-assembly, attach the fixture with a screw of 3.5–4.5 mm diameter; the small head will remain nearly flush with the surface. If required, the mounting can be additionally sealed with a suitable sealing compound.
Use a standard TX40 bit for consistent installation torque; for plastered layers greater than 10 mm pre-drill to avoid excessive stress on the plug and ensure a secure anchor.
